We want to take ownership of this pub and put it in to a community ownership model
The Idea
With so many pubs shutting down in Livingston, and around the country, we want to secure the future of this centrally located pub.
Community pubs are owned by Members and are run democratically on the basis of one-member-one-vote. Membership is voluntary, affordable, and open to all in a community.
The community will purchase the freehold of the pub in order to retain community control of the asset. Once owned, the community have the option of leasing the operations of the pub business to a tenant or running it themselves with either paid staff or volunteers.
The pub will use local and other Scottish breweries and distilleries, with all profits being reinvested back into the pub keeping the money in our local economy.
