We want to bring the ice rink back to Livingston
The Idea
Livingston’s old ice rink, Icelandia, which was built in the late 80’s, is now a distant memory. However, the people of Livi often speak about how much enjoyment they had at the rink, giving them a sense of wellbeing and community.
We want to bring it back, bigger and better, so we once again have ice hockey teams, skating and curling in West Lothian. This will also provide a much needed leisure facility and another community hub where people can meet and spend quality time together improving their mental and physical wellbeing.
As with the other two projects, any profit will be reinvested to support job creation, education, training and rehabilitation within the community.

We haven’t got this far yet, but there are plenty of vacant areas in and around the town centre that can hopefully be used.

Building an ice rink in the UK can cost anywhere between £5 million and £8 million, including cafe, changing facilities and adequate seating.
